We have boarded our two aussies here several times. Our dogs "room" together which is what we wanted. It seems we always return from our trips on Sundays. In the past we just paid to have them groomed on Sunday which allowed us to pick them up later than the normal "by noon" pick up. However that has changed and they no longer do grooming on Sundays so we would have to pick them up prior to noon on Sunday or Monday morning early. Unfortunately that doesn't work for us either way; if that isn't an issue for you, this is a great place. I didn't notice that the place was "older" the grounds are well groomed, and maintained and the kennels were nice, clean and I never smelled anything. We both work Mon-Fri and we miss our dogs too much when we have to leave them and we want to pick them up immediately upon our return on Sundays so now we'll have to figure that one out now that it's under new management with changes and the name change.

Just found this place a couple years back, what a clean and nice facility. Older building but very well kept up. Smells great and the staff always seem so happy. In my experiences my dog has received much better care at this facility than any other I've ever tried. There new manager knows so much about animals and even offers behavior classes to the animals while their owners are away! She's a definite animal lover and great at what she does. Would highly recommend for a well priced hidden hideaway for your cat or dog.

What a clean facility and great staff! I have been taking my animals here for 5 years now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the facility is soooo clean. Every time I've been in it never seems to smell like animals. Even better, I've just shown up unannounced a few times and its the same, I've taken tours and gone back with the staff to get my own pet and its incredible how clean the place is! My animals always seem to love it, they get playtime out in a big yard with the staff and are even fresh and bathed when I come to pick them up. They are truly a great facility, would highly recommend to anyone looking to know their pet is safe and well loved and cared for while away from home!

I heard about Country Kennels from a friend and am SOOO glad I did! I just stopped by to check it out and got a full tour from the staff. All the dogs were relaxed in their kennels, no crazy barking and jumping around - that really impressed me! And it's very clean - it doesn't even smell like a kennel! The staff was very friendly and clearly loved all the dogs! My dog stayed there for 3 days and the trainer even worked with her to stop her bad jumping habit! She came home clean (I paid for a bath) and even better behaved - and it was reasonably priced! I'm impressed and will definitely go back and refer my friends!

We have been taking our dogs to Cair Jac Kennels for over 15 years and wouldn't think of taking them any where else. All of our dogs think they are going to camp and get excited when they get there. The staff are wonderful and very patient even with our wild wired hair fox terrier. We know our dogs are in good hands at Cair Jacs.

I recently moved into the Tacoma area and in my search for a kennel I found Country Kennel. I was impressed that for an older place it smelled and looked very clean! I liked the fact that they do not turn anyone away! I have 2 Rottweilers and sometimes it is difficult to find a place to keep them. I also liked the fact that the manager has years of experience and lives on site! I feel very relieved that now when I travel my dogs will be safe and well cared for. AND they said it would not be any trouble to bath my dogs before I pick them up.

I found Country Kennels on the internet. I dropped in for a tour before bringing my dogs in.Youre allowed to tour at ANYTIME, which I was advised to be a must of any boarding facility. The place was super clean and smelled good. The staff was knowledgable and very friendly. Country kennels is a full service kind of place. I have a senior lab mix with a seziure disorder and felt very confident that she would be cared for properly. My dogs were groomed before they came home ( for an extra fee) they came back to me happy and relaxed. It was like a stay at the spa for them!! I recommend them to everyone who asks about local boarding. I will use Country Kennels and their grooming for years to come.
